Tenaga Nasional Berhad were held to a 4-4 draw by debutants Terengganu HT in the opening match of the 2013 season of the TNBMHL at the National Hockey Stadium in Bukit Jalil.

It was a poor performance by both teams despite the eight goals as the two teams were obvioiusly affected with a large number of players having just got back from national duty in the Azlan Shah Cup last week.

The match between Sapura and Nur Insafi Warriors was called of in the 41st minute due to adverse weather conditions. And after waiting 45 minutes, the score stood with both teams awarded a point.

At the adjacent pitch, Uniten KPT defeated Sunday 20/30 3-1 after being a goal down at halftime in a Division One match.

"We made defensive errors and gifted them the goals. In our haste to attack, we left gaps in defence and they exploited them<' said TNB coach Nor Azlan Bakar.

"Its an area of concern and we need to find the right combination and settle down fast."

TNB forced two successive penalty corners in the 10th and 11th minutes but Faisal Saari failed to get his shot on target.

However TNB were not to be denied in the 13th minute when Terengganu's Mohd Shahrun Nabil deflected the ball past his own keeper Hazrul Faiz Ahmad Sobri to give TNB the lead.

In the 23rd minute TNB doubled the advantage as Faisal got his act right and converted a penalty corner to make it 2-0.

Terengganu could have reduced trhe deficit in the 29th minute but Mohd Ameerullah  Aziz was too hasty and shot wide with only keeper S. Kumar to beat. They however managed to get a goal back in the 30th minute when M. Sufi Ismat M. Rohul Amin found the target.

It was a recharged Terengganu that trooped onto the pitch in the second half and within the first six minutes after resumption, the east coast side took the lead.

Tengku Ahmad Tajuddin Tg Jalil made it 3-2 in the 40th minute, picking up a rebound to slot past Kumar. And in the very next minute Fitri Saari put Terennganu in the lead, bursting in from the right to score from an acute angle.

Faisal however made it all square, scoring from TNB's fifth penalty corner in the 45th minute.

TNB failed to stop cleanly a penalty corner awarded to them in the 63rd minute and off the counter attack, Sobirin Ilias put the finishing touches to a rebound to give Terengganu a 4-3 lead with six minutes remaining.

But TNB refused to take it lying down and netted the equaliser through Muhammad Ramadhan Rosli two minutes later to share the spoils.

Sunday 20/30 took the lead in the 28th minute via P. Prabhakaran. But Uniten hit back in the second half with goals from M. Haniff Mohd Saidin ( 42nd minute), M. Faisal Kamaruddin (46th minute) and Mohd Sabri Mohammad (67th minute) to take all three points.
